After the unexpected… expected hassles of traveling, we made it to Hanoi. We were about 8 or 10 hours late due to a late departure, which caused us to miss a flight… so we were diverted to Bangkok for several hours. But since we expected the unexpected, it was fine.
We spent the first couple of days wandering around Hanoi, on a mission to find interesting beer and food. Mission accomplished.
We went to Halong Bay on a two-day kayak trip. In reality, it is more of a 3 hour drive, 2 hour cruise on a house boat, a couple hours of kayaking, and back to the house boat for eating, drinking and sleeping. After the noise of Hanoi it was a good way to spend some time.
